China

With over 1.4 billion people, the People's Republic of China is one of the most populous countries in the world and has become the second-largest economic power. Nevertheless, a large part of the population lives in poverty, especially in rural areas. The contrast between high-tech metropolises and remote villages is enormous. While economic progress is celebrated, many people suffer under authoritarian state control and religious persecution.

BANNED, BUT SOUGHT FOR
We have been investing in the production and distribution of Bibles for years because they are rare in China and - if at all - can only be purchased as individual copies. Since the 1990s, several million Bibles have been financed and distributed in this way.
