It is worth persisting
Palembang – a city with over a million inhabitants in South Sumatra, Indonesia. Our partners have been active there for many years. They meet people, tell them about Jesus, and invest in relationships. But despite all their efforts and tireless dedication, there was no visible fruit for a long time.
When our project manager recently visited the partners, they reported on the patience and perseverance that is required: it takes over ten years of hard work and prayer for a Muslim in this region to find Jesus. But the joy and gratitude for every single person who decides to live with Jesus outweighs every effort and every wait.
The church has now grown so much that it needs to rent a space where regular services can be held in the future. What at first glance looks like a simple, sparse room is the result of decades of prayer. It shows us that it is worth persevering.
