Strong Start Despite Cold Weather

RUSSIA
Despite temperatures as low as –30°C and difficult starting conditions, the new ACP Bible school class in Krasnoyarsk has begun with great determination and commitment.

Nineteen students have started the new year at Bible school. The group consists of ten men and nine women, including a married couple, aged between 20 and 60. Some come from Christian homes, others from backgrounds of drugs and alcohol. They are all united by the desire to shape their lives with Jesus and to be trained for ministry.

The first week was marked by particular challenges. Due to extreme cold, the newly rented apartment was initially barely habitable for the students. Windows had to be insulated with blankets and a defective fuse had to be replaced so that the electric heaters would work. It took several days before the rooms could be adequately heated and the young evangelists could spend their first night without freezing.

Despite these circumstances, the group remained steadfast. No one gave up. The prospective co-workers and pastors grew close together in the first few days. The street evangelism was also encouraging. Many people, especially young people, heard the gospel. One young woman came directly from the outreach to the youth meeting and then attended the worship service. Thus, right from the start, it is already evident how the ACP Bible School is reaching people and changing lives.
